Batman No. 196 Cover by Infantino & Anderson
As the Silver Age matured – this issue is cover dated November 1967 – many books grew out of the innocent cheesiness that had marked the beginning of the era. Covers that were bolder, more dynamic, more in your face, competed for attention on the newsstand.
Carmine Infantino knew how to design a cover. He was one of the best, and Murphy Anderson always added a lushness to whatever he inked.
