There have been a lot of great depictions of Deadman since his creation in the 1960s. Neal Adams, Jim Aparo, José Luis García-López and more.
This one by Ivan Reis and colourist Hi-Fi is right up there. On finding a scan of Reis’ pencils I wanted to go in a different direction. Instead of the fully-rendered airbrush look, I thought the grittiness of an ink version and creepier colours might work.
