Justice Machine No. 1 Cover by Byrne & Gustovich
Looking through my files, I never got around to posting this colouring piece for whatever reason, originally done the better part of five years ago. Seeing Mike Gustovich on facebook twigged my memory, and so here it is now updated and polished.
Team books were very popular in the early 80s, what with Marvel’s X-Men and DC’s New Teen Titans dominating the marketplace. It was also a time of phenomenal growth in the direct market with a lot of small publishers springing up. And Noble with The Justice Machine was a great entry. It certainly didn’t hurt that they had John Byrne pencil that first cover.
