Rarer than regular tabloids that reprinted popular material were the special editions that contained new material prepared expressly for their oversized pages.
Just as Marvel Treasury Edition No. 29 – the so-called Holiday Grab-Bag – could have been left unfinished on galley tables in the Marvel Bullpen of 40 years ago, so could this issue have been. The only Marvel treasury devoted to the X-Men as they rose to their dominance over the publisher’s direction.
Let us make sure it is never forgotten.
