Mystery in Space No. 118 Cover by Joe Kubert
Time Warp had come and gone in five Dollar Comics, leaving some material for that book unpublished. One story ended up in Unexpected No. 195, and the rest – presumably – ended up in this regular-sized revival of Mystery in Space.
But even this comic would be short-lived with seven issues of Nos. 111 to 117, leaving this cover by Joe Kubert for No. 118 unpublished.
The scan is probably the worst I’ve ever coloured and it took some work to clean it up. If it had been anybody else’s work I wouldn’t have attempted it. Well, maybe if it had been by Alex Toth, that might have worked as well. Both artists believed in bold, simple linework. That style has the bonus of being nearly bulletproof when it comes to production processes. While I wouldn’t want to put this version on press it holds up well enough on screen.
Colour and packaging by me.

A very rough scan found somewhere on the web.

Art made production ready.

Colour version.

Re-created and new trade dress added.
