Nexus by Baron & Rude
I’ve been following Nexus since the beginning, so when Steve Rude put out the call for a colourist a few years back, I threw my hat in the ring by colouring the provided sample page.

The sample page.

I chose to also re-letter the page.

Final colour.
Alas, I never heard back and the job went to someone else.
UPDATE APRIL 16, 2025
Unfortunately, I need to bring up a case of rights abuse.
A few months back, Mike Baron posted the photo below on facebook. I thought about it for a bit and sent this message to Baron there:
Hi Mike –
Hope you’re keeping well. I’m happy to follow you here and see what you’re up to. Good to see you still active. I’ve been a Nexus reader from the beginning.
You surprised me tonight, though. The picture of [redacted] is nice. She looks like a happy person. My eye was drawn to your pop-up banners in the background. In particular the page of Nexus art on the right-hand one.
Back in 2018 Mr. Rude put out a call for colourists to work on a Nexus project. If I recall correctly, [redacted] got the job. I had sent in a sample but didn’t hear anything back. I didn’t think anything of it, posted the art on my site (link below) and moved on to other stuff.

Now, that work was indeed submitted as a sample and was not paid for. No agreement was signed transferring rights to you or Mr. Rude. If you’d like to correct the lack of payment at this time, I’d appreciate it. If you’d rather reprint your banner with a piece that doesn’t use my colouring, that is also perfectly acceptable.
Thanks for your time.

There was no response. Not good behaviour from a professional with decades of experience.
