Starfire was another creation of writer David Michelinie – creator of Claw the Unconquered – and brought to visual life by penciller Mike Vosburg, debuting with Starfire No. 1, cover dated Aug/Sep 1976.
Starfire ran only eight issues, with Michelinie leaving after No. 2. Elliot S! Maggin wrote three, Steve Englehart two and Tom DeFalco wrote the last issue.
Mike Vosburg with inker Vince Colletta kept the book on track through the changes in writers. With Starfire’s story left unfinished, perhaps it will be picked up one day.
This piece was a pinup Vosburg sold at convention appearances and it’s repurposed here as Starfire No. 9. Colour and packaging by me.
